YouTuber MrBeast Builds 100 Wells in Africa in Heartwarming Video, Garners Praise Globally

YouTuber MrBeast AKA Jimmy Donaldson has now built 100 wells in Africa.

The YouTuber is known for his grand-scale philanthropic projects. He has previously helped paralysed dogs, paid for a children’s hospital and a lot more.

In the latest video, MrBeast takes his audience to Africa to solve one of the biggest problems, that is, access to clean drinking water. He takes on the challenge of building 100 wells across the continent of Africa.

He built the first well in a Kenyan village. The video follows him and his team as they travel to various locations in Africa, including Kenya, Zimbabwe, and other countries.

After getting done in Kenya, the YouTuber travels to the Niri school system.

MrBeast, along with his team, visits the river from which the students currently fetch water.

On seeing the living condition there, MrBeast feels happy that he got to do this for them.

The YouTuber also visits Zimbabwe. There he constructed a bridge to improve access to a well.

The dangerous river posed a significant risk to the community and MrBeast helped construct a better bridge. This is followed by a visit to the local hospital.

Since being uploaded, the video has gone viral and garnered millions of views. “Instead of buying giant mansions he is literally changing a lot of lives. I’m so glad that there are still good people out there! Keep it going, Jimmy! You are my favorite YouTuber!” commented a social media user.

Another person wrote, “We made the right person famous. This is really heart touching that he’s been helping all those in needs.”

Meanwhile, MrBeast helped 2000 amputees in Cambodia walk again.

The YouTuber, partnered with an organisation called Exceed Worldwide that has been helping amputees for free for 30 years.

The video, posted on MrBeast’s supplementary channel Beast Philanthropy, showed a harrowing portrait of amputees in Cambodia who, for lack of money, face a host of accessibility problems including access to education and employment.

The video specifically showed the journeys of two women who got prosthetic limbs and ushered hope that they would be able to access better education and employment afterwards.

This isn’t the first time Mr Beast has made a YouTube video helping hundreds of people: he paid for the surgeries of 1000 blind people to help them see again.

Jimmy Donaldson

Donaldson is the most popular individual creator on YouTube, with more than 200 million subscribers. He has become known for his philanthropy, posting videos in which he sponsored 1,000 blind people’s cataract surgery and bought prosthetic limbs for 2,000 amputees.

Such videos have helped him build a business empire potentially worth more than $1 billion and garnered him enough recognition that Time magazine named him one of the most influential people in 2023.

Some critics have previously accused Donaldson of exploiting vulnerable people to generate views and revenue but he said on X that “I’m always going to use my channel to help people and try to inspire my audience to do the same.”
